Stephen Leather: Friendly Fire A Spider Shepherd short story Published by Leather This, in a nut shell, is a decent and very well written Story by Leather, on the adventures of Spider Shepherd in the army. On thinking he was about to have the pleasure of temporary leave of duty to go back home to his wife and family and actually be there for his Sons birthday, he discovers that other plans have been made for him. Sent on a secret ground mission to Afghanistan, Spider, together with an old friend and former trainer, Spud, and a new allie, Taj, head a search and hunt mission for the World's Most Wanted man, and discover his secret lair. As the title suggests, things don't exactly go to plan. A decent step into the adventure of Spider Shepherd that actually does leave you wanting to read more. Although it is penned as a short story, I feel it could have been an excerpt from a full length novel. More please Mr Leather?! 6.5/10 Blogger Points
